What to expect when Episode 1 drops
In a couple of weeks we hit publish on something we've been building quietly for months. Here's what's actually coming, and how to make sure you don't miss it.
First, the show itself. The Cool Nerds Club is a weekly conversation with founders and builders about the entrepreneur journey — not the polished, highlight-reel version, but the real one. Each episode is a single guest, about fifty minutes, structured loosely around one arc: how they started, the chapter they don't usually talk about in interviews, what actually changed, and where they are now. Partway through, we pause for something we call The Pony Break — a few minutes where we stop talking tactics and just talk about the person doing the work. If that sounds different from most founder interviews you've heard, good. That's the point.
Second, the blog is going to run on a rhythm, and it's worth knowing the pattern now so it's familiar once episodes start landing. Mondays are Field Notes — the stuff that didn't make it into that week's episode, extended and expanded here. Wednesdays alternate between Under the Hood, the tactical side of the house, and The Club, where the community itself becomes part of the story. Fridays are The Lonely Chapters, a weekly essay on the parts of this journey that are honest instead of impressive. Three posts a week, four different angles on the same larger question: what does it actually take to build something, all the way through.
Behind the scenes, the last two weeks have looked like this: mic checks in a closet that's now permanently full of blankets instead of clothes, a couple of trial recordings we scrapped entirely, and one very long argument about what to call the segment that eventually became The Pony Break. None of that makes it into the final episode, but it felt worth telling you, since honesty about the process is kind of our whole thing.
We'll be upfront about where things stand: this is a new show, which means the first few episodes are also us figuring out our own rhythm in real time. We'd rather launch a little rough and improve in public than wait for a version of "ready" that never quite arrives. If early episodes have some seams showing, that's not a bug — it's kind of the whole ethos of this place.
One more thing worth knowing: we're actively looking for guests, and if you're building something and would be up for a conversation that goes further than the usual pitch, we want to hear from you. The best guests for this show aren't necessarily the ones with the biggest numbers — they're the ones willing to talk about the actual texture of the work, not just the highlight reel.
So — what to do right now, if you want to be there for Episode 1: subscribe wherever you're reading this, so it lands the moment it's live instead of getting buried later. Follow along here on the blog between now and launch; we'll be posting through the whole runway, not going quiet until the show drops. And if you've got a question you want asked on air, or a guest you think we should talk to, send it our way — this show is going to be built with input from people actually living this, not just built for them.
Two weeks out. We're genuinely excited. See you soon.
